Laiyuan is located in a basin, surrounded by mountains. The average temperature in midsummer is 21.7℃. It is known as the "Cool City" and is another popular summer resort after Qinhuangdao, Beidaihe and Chengde.

Located on the west side of Laiyuan Lake, the Water Dance Show incorporates traditional cultural elements into its design, inspired by the image of a Buddha caressing a lotus. The sacred lotus, pure and untainted, surges through the lake's heart, while the Buddha's hand gently touches it, bringing blessings to Laiyuan. While inheriting the classic "one line, three circles" theme, it also innovates and imbues it with new meaning.

The musical fountain utilizes an integrated lifting floating system, with a total length of 96 meters and a width of 24 meters. The central high jet reaches 90 meters and the secondary high jet reaches 60 meters, respectively. Over a dozen beautiful water patterns, including Rainbow Flying, Fantasy Water Dance, and Myriad Forms, combine 2D and 3D technology, gas explosions, lasers, interactive displays, and projections to create an unprecedented visual and auditory feast featuring 3D visuals, 4D interpretation, and 5D experiences.

The Laiyuan Lake Water Dance Show is performed through four chapters, interpreting the theme of "Ecological Laiyuan, the Most Beautiful Laiyuan". The plot, laser, music, lighting, water show and scenes are integrated into one, and the pictures are wonderful, bringing tourists an extremely shocking all-round audio-visual experience.

The water screen movie is undoubtedly a highlight of this water show. Two fan-shaped water screens, 50 meters long and 15 meters high, draw upon Laiyuan's history and culture, showcasing its revolutionary culture, ecotourism, and its past, present, and future aspirations.

The most breathtaking feature is the 118 beam lights that nearly cover the entire lakefront on the opposite bank. The 430-meter-long beams illuminate the night sky, dominating your view. This scale is unparalleled in China. The performance synergizes with the central lake fountain, each showcasing its own unique beauty and awe-inspiring spectacle.
